Liquicity Festival was founded in 2015, making this its 11th year.
The festival is part of Liquicity (events and label company launched January 2013; YouTube channel founded 2008 by Maris Goudzwaard)'s portfolio of electronic music events.
Liquicity Festival did not start as a festival. It started in 2008 as a YouTube channel run by Maris Goudzwaard, posting melodic, emotional liquid drum and bass to an audience that grew into the millions before anyone bought a ticket. The live company launched in January 2013, and the first full-day festival followed on 26 July 2015 in the Diemen forest near Amsterdam. In 2017 the event moved to Geestmerambacht, a recreational park in North Holland near Alkmaar, and settled into the camping weekender format it still runs today across three stages. The music stays close to its roots: liquid and melodic drum and bass rather than a scattered electronic bill, which is rare among European festivals of this size. By the end of 2025 Liquicity counted nine sold-out summers and more than 100,000 fans across nine editions. The 2026 edition, set for July 24 to 26 at Geestmerambacht, marks the tenth anniversary, with headline sets from Hybrid Minds, Fox Stevenson and Netsky alongside names including Andy C, Shy FX, Delta Heavy, Sigma and Wilkinson. For a brand born on a video channel, the festival remains as much a place to watch as to attend.

Liquicity is a livestream-native brand: it began as a YouTube channel in 2008 and built its festival on top of that audience. The 2016 edition was broadcast as an official YouTube livestream, and individual sets from that year, including performances by Calibre and NCT, were published on the Liquicity Events channel. Across later editions the festival has continued to record stage sets and publish them free on YouTube, with a dedicated Liquicity Festival 2024 playlist among the recent collections. The festival also operates a LiquicityTV presence on Twitch. All of this video has been free to watch rather than paywalled.
Liquicity grew out of a YouTube channel started in 2008 that specialized in melodic, emotional liquid drum and bass before it ever ran an event, so the festival is the live extension of an online music community.
The festival programs almost entirely liquid and melodic drum and bass rather than a broad electronic bill, making it one of the few dedicated liquid DnB weekenders in Europe.
Since 2017 it has run as a camping weekender at Geestmerambacht with three stages and a deliberately capped crowd, and every summer edition through 2025 sold out.
The festival takes place at Geestmerambacht in Netherlands.
